Presidents Chat

It is my pleasure to welcome all players and parents of Applecross Junior Football Club (AJFC) to the 2012 football season!

After many years of great service to the club we have given some stalwarts of the Applecross JFC a well earned rest from formal committee responsibilities. We have welcomed many new faces to official committee roles within the club. A HUGE thank-you to the new wave of volunteers.

Our club’s primary goal for this year is to continue to create and foster a positive club environment so that all players are encouraged to enjoy their football through active participation and develop their football and life skills.

We are extremely privileged to have 276 Game AFL Legend Glen Jakovich on board as our COACHING COORDINATOR and SCHOOL LIAISON OFFICER. You will bump into Glen around the club right through the 2012 season.

Our club would not operate successfully without the continued support of our club sponsors. Thank you to all our generous club sponsors for 2012. This year we would like to make special mention of our 2012 Major Sponsor, “The Good Grocer”. I urge you to all please support our club sponsor’s whenever you can. A full list of our current sponsors is on our Sponsors page for your consideration. Don’t forget to tell them you found them through Applecross JFC.

Previous years focus and development of our Auskick programme continues to bear fruit with record numbers of Auskick participants in 2011. Auskick participation is vitally important to the long term prosperity of the club and previous years effort have resulted in two teams being fielded in the 9's for the upcoming season. Our club is well represented with participation in most junior grades.

During the year you will asked to volunteer in the canteen, cutting up oranges, sizzling a sausage or maybe even pouring a champagne at one of our scheduled sundowners. The club only survives because of volunteers. So when it is your turn please accept the invitation with a SMILE.
